Well 2018 show came around in no time at all and with it came a challenge to find a venue at short notice , but , never to run from a challenge we scurried about and duly found one , Thank you Morris Equestrian Centre for allowing us to use the outside arena

Worcester DTC Show Secretary’s Report

Another year and another show over and done with – hurray!! Unless you run/are involved in running a show I don’t think most people appreciate the enormous amount of time and effort involved. There are months of planning and preparation before you even get to the venue. Once there everything needs to be organised, put up, kept tidy and then all put away again ready for next year. As we are only a small club this requires herculean effort which begins on the Wednesday morning before the show and doesn’t finish until the last camper leaves the following Tuesday.

Disaster struck on Wednesday when our booked mowing man did 2 small areas then left. Thankfully Annegret’s other half Nick delivered his mower to us enabling our turbo charged mowing team of Phil, Tammy, Leslie, Rob, Jacky and Kit to hand mow the rest of the ring area. Thanks guys – back breaking work but much appreciated to make the working area as good as it could be.
Sadly Sunday did not arrive with the ordered weather instead being wet and windy for most of the day. Undaunted everyone soldiered on and thankfully Monday was much improved which certainly made the day more pleasant.

East Kilbride DTC Championship Show 2/9/18 Show Secretary’s Report

Well another show has come and gone and with it the end of the show season here in Scotland.

First of all, I would like to thank all of our judges & stewards for giving up their day to allow others to pursue and enjoy our fabulous hobby; and some of our judges were either judging or stewarding the day before at Kilmarnock so extra thanks go to those concerned.

Lichfield and District Dog Training Society Championship and Open Obedience Shows 1st and 2nd September 2018 Show Secretaries’ Report

This was our first year of ‘going it alone’ and what a year it was. We faced pretty much every problem possible on the lead up to the show but miraculously it was all alright on the night/weekend!

Congratulations to Philomena Barnes and Pauline Hill for winning the Championship C classes, good luck at Crufts!
We would also like to congratulate all the competitors in the Young Kennel Club classes who were placed and therefore gaining points towards qualification for Crufts 2019.

Show secretary’s report – Wigton Weekend

Well, that’s another one over and done with – a lovely sunny day on the Saturday for the Championship event which was unfortunately not repeated on the Sunday but that didn’t appear to dampen spirits!

My sincere thanks to all our participants, Wigton club members, Lune Valleyites at the booking-in tent and the Orange Army in the marquee, the volunteers in the stay ring especially in Sunday’s damp conditions and to all our judges and stewards.

Show secretary’s report – York City

Firstly a huge thank you to everyone who attended York City DTC show today, Thank you to all the judges and stewards who gave up their day. Thank you to everyone who helped in one way or another and for all the lovely comments I received throughout the day.

This show was my 3rd year as Show Secretary and first time at this new venue, I feel I’m still learning the ropes, so you can imagine my panic when The Kennel Club rep turned up, although nearly everything went smoothly and he was very impressed with the venue and team moral.

Show Secretary’s Report – Lune Valley

Just to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who again made our show a great success.

We decided this year we could not face putting up the Secretary’s marque again, especially after the weather last year! It was suggested at committee I just put a table outside my motorhome!! However, all agreed that we would hire one along with the judge’s tent and what a difference that made, we all felt quite relaxed. We also organised a ‘Buddy’ system this year to allow certain people to have a break and that also worked well.

Show Secretary’s Report – Hatchford Brook

As another Hatchford Brook Show draws to an end with just a few caravans to go this morning I’d like to thank everyone who made this weekend a success. Even the weather pulled out all the stops to give us virtually wall to wall sunshine.

First of all a big thank you to all the judges, stewards, Marcia and her stay team and chief stewards John Ball and Jane Barstow. Without you all we wouldn’t have a show. Also thank you to the decoy stewards and table stewards for all your help.

Show Secretary’s Report – North West Kent

Well we have had some scorchers in the past but I think that the weekend exceeded anything that we have had before but somehow we got through it without a hitch.

Our thank yous will be like the Oscars as there are so many people that we just can’t do without, from set up to break down and the days in between.

During the week of the show we discovered that we had less room available for campers due to the rugby club having recently being upgraded to a higher league which meant that no vehicles were allowed on the second pitch.

Coventry Open Show – Show Secretary Report

Firstly I would like to acknowledge Jane Webb, all at CDTC wish you a speedy recovery and we are happy to hear you are up on your feet.

This year due to the NABBTS “situation” we worked hard to ensure that competitors had options and extended our closing date. We also hosted MBCC tickets to ensure these did not get missed, thank you to Sheilagh for working so closely with us to ensure this went seamlessly.
