Show secretary’s report – Loughborough

I would like to thank everyone involved in our show from helping to set up, to judging and stewarding, scent decoys and taking down again which meant we had a good successful show.

Thank you competitors for not keeping judges hanging about, most of them saying they were not kept waiting. Even the Kennel Club visitor went away happy. So thank you to Tony, Delia, Jill, Jacki and Cheryl club members and Cheryl’s son Brett and husband also called Brett who helped pack away Sunday evening also Lyn and Mick Tozer who came to help set up.

Thank you to Janet Beverley for keeping Sue Garners ticket table in order, I hope you enjoyed doing it? To all the decoy stewards and to Annegret who judged the Beginner class on Sunday when Caroline Johnson was ill hope you are feeling better Caroline. To Rosie Colwood who made a special journey to steward for Jessica Lewis taking the place of Annegret.

We held an Obreedience class this year and had seven teams enter but only six competed, thank you Lesley Deegan for judging that class and Linda Wild for stewarding.

To the ticket winners and all winning people congratulations( I will be putting full results on Obedience UK but having acquired a new puppy yesterday called Essie I have to fit this in) The special class went down well with money going to Spencer’s Retreat, I think dogs and handlers enjoyed, thank you Dawn for a lot of thought and the entertainment. We had some doggy items donated by Sheila Spencer in memory of Paul (her late husband) the money also going to Spencer’s Retreat which was a coincidence.

All in all we had good weather a happy crowd of people and a good show which I am glad is now out of the way for another year. Scent cloths washed by Delia have been counted and bagged and put away ready for next year thank goodness. If any of you reading this would like to volunteer for next year please feel free to contact me.
